Dissolution - n.
1. Termination or extinction by disintegration or dispersion
2. Extinction of life; death
3. Formal dismissal of an assembly or legislature.
4. the separation of an inter-parametric unit into its component parts, where usually each part is developed independently.

Dissolution was originally arranged as Exsanguination by Ryan Forsyth and Dennis Mott in late 2003. Originally intended to be a technical death metal band, Exsanguination evolved to the point that the name no longer suited the music. Dissolution was decided upon after many name considerations, as it suited the new style of technical progressive death metal.

After a year of searching and many let downs, Troy Lajoie was found to fill the drumming position. Shortly after, Shane Guy was found to fill in the bass, complimenting the band in it's fullest respects.

After some unsucessful attepts at jamming, Shane was replaced by Graeme Martin, now a permanant member of the band. Troy and Dissolution shortly after parted ways and Dave Boyle was added as the new drummer. After reliability issues and interventions, Dave decided to leave Dissolution just weeks before two big shows. Our good friend Robot Drummer came to the rescue, and both shows went off with little issues. Scott Patterson has finally stepped up and proven there actually was a drummer who could fill the boots of the machine like previous drummer, Robot Drummer. Finally, a drummer we don't have to plug in!

In 2007, Graeme decided to move to Burlington, On and the search for a new bassist was on. Jean-Louis Wittenger filled the position, providing a solid foundation for Dissolution once again.
